DIY Natural Makeup Remover

Yay for the NEW beauty page on the Ms. Fitfood! I am so excited to dive into this with you and I have so many ideas on what I want to talk about and what I want to share with you in this page! I have a few people who really inspire me, and I am diving into some fun new research so I can be of even more help to you all! I have become a pretty big proponent of more natural and less chemicall-y ways to take care of my skin and this is one of the first things I did when I started that journey. What prompted this initially is that when I first found out I was pregnant, my skin was SOOO dry! Like my lips were even peeling, and on top of that, I started getting dry patches and my skin became a lot more sensitive to the makeup remover wipes I was using. They started burning my skin...FUN TIMES! Anyway, I started doing some research on a way to remove my makeup that would be easier on my skin and a way that I wouldn't have to rub so hard to get my eye makeup off, and this is what I came up with!

Like I said, I wanted a more natural list of ingredients, something that is good for dry and sensitive skin and on top of that, I didn't have to spend 50.00 to make them! I had all of the ingredients at my house and the makeup remover took all of 5 minutes total to make!

What you need:

-Cotton Facial pads, I ordered Shiseido Facial Cotton off of Amazon because my cousin Erica is OBSESSED with them and she is right! As she would say, they feel like you are using a cloud on your face! haha

-2-3 TBSP Johnsons and Johnsons Baby Shampoo: I use Lavender

- 2 TBSP Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil: I use this for my body lotion, and I also use this for cooking...so we buy it in bulk! haha

- 2 Cups Purified Water

-Wide Mouth Jar or Container to store the makeup wipes in.

Directions:

1. Place Coconut oil, Johnsons and Johnsons, and water into a microwavable bowl and heat up in 15 second increments until they all become combined (stir as needed)

2. Poor mixture into container you are using to keep the pads in and add the actual pads. You will be able to add 50+ pads. Just squish them down until they are saturated into the liquid mixture!

3. Use them to clean your face and take off your makeup! The tear free shampoo makes it safe to use on your eyes, and the coconut oil makes it moisturizing and less drying than store bought face wipes!

P.S. this is an OXO container, they have pop lock lids and I use these to store my different kitchen flours, oats, crackers and such! Maybe ill do a kitchen tour one day!
